Be@rbrick










Bearbricks are collectible toys designed and created by the Japanese company "MediCom Toy Incorporated"


The name "bearbrick" comes from "bear" which is it's figure and "Kubrick" which is a block-style toy figure.


bearbrick is a humanized toy(has the body of a human)with extremely simplified form and a pot belly.


The first figure was released on May 27, 2001 as a free gift to visitors of the World Character Convention 12.

Sice then various of editions have created made from different material like wood, felt and glow-in-the-dark-plastic.


The original size of it is 7 centimeters high and these Bearbricks is called 100% bearbricks. Other sizes of it are called as 50%-4 centimeters high, 70%-5 centimeters high, 400%-28 centimeters high, and 1000%-70 centimeters high.


Here are some of bearbricks different editions:


  • Basic- a solid-color figure that has an letter imprint on it's chest, and when you placed it in a row it will spell the word be@rbrick.

  • Jellybean- a solid-color figure that is molded in translucent plastic.

  • Pattern- figures that has different patterns and designs ranging form polkadots to flower designs which was created by different designers.

  • Flag- a figure painted as a nation's flag.

  • Horror- a figure with a theme of popular characters form different horror movies.

  • SF(Science fiction)- a figure that is based on science-fiction characters.

  • Cute- a figure which visually represents the concept cuteness.

  • Animal- a figure which depicts an actual animal.

  • Artist- 2 figures, each designed by a visual artist.

Bearbricks are often sold in "blind boxes". The only way to know which particular figure is inside that box is to buy it and open it. The box states the frequency of each figure: Basic: 14.58%; Jellybean:11.45%; Pattern: 11.45%; Flag: 9.37%; Horror: 9.37%; SF: 10.41%; Cute: 13.54%; Animal: 8.33; Artist: 4.16; Second Artsist: 1.04.


Bearbricks are sold in different prices depending on the frequencu stated in the box, So if that's the case the most cheap ic the Basic and the most expensive will be the Second Artist.


Bearbricks are sold in limited numbers and is not re-released. So if you want to collect it, collect it fast!!!
